Michelle Morrone, PhD, is a Professor of Environmental Health Science and the Director of the Appalachian Rural Health Institute at Ohio University. She has been a member of the OU Faculty since 1998 and has served in numerous academic and administrative positions including the Director of Environmental Studies, the Associate Director of Academic Affairs for the Voinovich School, and the coordinator of the nationally-accredited Environmental Health program. In 2012, she was the Fulbright Research Scholar in the Environment at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Morrone has authored or co-authored 4 books and numerous papers related to the connection between environmental issues and health outcomes. Her research mainly focuses on environmental and health disparities, with a specific emphasis on Appalachia.
